Magnificat Wooden Ornament
He hath filled the hungry with good things, and the rich He hath sent empty away.
- The Magnificat
The Theotokos holds a spear together with Christ while pointing to Him as they pierce what is meant to represent the bronze stock market bull of Wall Street and the golden calf.
This is inspired by a painting of the Virgin Mary striking demons under her feet with a spear.
I have been exhausted by the constant call to worship the false god of greed. Trust in the ✨economy✨ has become the new trust in God. People suffer while the powerful rejoice over their man made systems that Christ will wipe clean when He comes to judge the earth.
I’m sick of seeing suffering, discord, and loss of hope while having to hear about how great the economy is. It’s the great gaslighting. I pray that we do not let the princes and powers of this world cover our eyes from the poor, the disenfranchised, the outcasts.
